National Community of Practice — Diverse by Design

One-off 90-minute online session (October 2025).

In October 2025 we designed and led a one-off online National Community of Practice session — Diverse by Design. Around 20 people joined us from across the country for a 90-minute interactive workshop.

The aim was to create a simple, welcoming space to learn more about co-production and how to work well alongside different communities. We ran the session in our relaxed “Over a Brew” style — informal, friendly and focused on honest conversation.

The session was co-facilitated by an experienced facilitator alongside two co-producers with lived experience. The topic was diverse by design, recognising that communities are not all the same, and that good co-production needs to reflect different identities, backgrounds and experiences.

During the interactive Zoom session, participants:

  • Heard real stories from practitioners and people with lived experience
  • Took part in small breakout discussions
  • Reflected on their own practice
  • Shared ideas, challenges and learning

We produced a clear summary of the key learning from the session, highlighting practical insights and reflections to support people in their own work. The session was very positively received. Feedback included:

“Great session and very thought provoking, thank you.”
“Thanks everyone. I really enjoyed the session. Nice to meet new people.”
“Another brilliant session that all Professionals, Managers and Directors would benefit from hearing!”
“Thank you for a great session!”

This event showed our commitment to creating inclusive, supportive spaces where people can learn from each other and strengthen their co-production practice.
