Our Crew

Meet our crew! We all bring different skills, ideas and experiences and we are open to meeting new people who may want to join, all the time — no cliques here…we build through relationships.

Cat Duncan-Rees

I’m a founder of Curators of Change, where we help people and organisations think differently and move towards more human, creative ways of working. With over 25 years’ experience in facilitation, mentoring, and group coaching across sectors like health, social care, community work, and media, I bring both tried-and-tested tools, fidget toys and the contents from my kid’s craft and Lego boxes to every room I’m in.

I’m a proud pirate and camerado, working alongside brilliant partners like Be More Pirate, Camerados and EDP Training. Whether I’m shaping strategy or culture, I’m all about sparking bold conversations and creating space for change with care and curiosity. My lived experience with mental health, neurodiversity, and wellbeing deeply informs everything I do.

Currently, I am also working towards the Lead More Pirate Level 7, Senior Leader Apprenticeship.

I live in Stockport with my husband, our three kids, and the newest recruit — Oskar the dog! I’m also part of our local community theatre, which keeps my spark alive.

I bring my own lived experience and passion for positive change to every project. I’m the co-chair of the “Putting People at the Heart of Care” working group with ADASS in the East of England, this has seen me speak at joint Health & Care challenge events for the East of England for NHS/ADASS. I also spent five years as a Co-production Ambassador for Healthwatch Suffolk, one highlight is when I shared my views at NHSE in Canary Wharf. In addition, I offer over 20 years of expertise in audio, web, video, and media production from my time working in the entertainment industry. I’m a father of two girls, a dog-dad of a husky cross (we walk many miles a week) and partner to Elise.

I’m someone who genuinely loves organising and keeping work on track — always ready to create a spreadsheet or a list! With a background in office administration, I’ve worked across a variety of businesses, from a multi-national home builder and land developer to coordinating start-up ventures. I also spent four incredible years as Manager of Special Events at Canada’s Hockey Hall of Fame. After living in Canada for 12 years, I now call Wales home, where I also home educate my children. I work as PA to Cat, and also provide office management and project support for Curators of Change, and I’m proud to work alongside such a passionate team.

My daughter, Maddy, is my inspiration. When she was ten, the White Paper, Valuing People, was published and I had great hopes for her future. Nearly 20 years later, people with learning disabilities still don’t have enough choice and control and are often not included in society. I’m a big fan of Making it Real and 80+ fab I and We statements: stop me and try one!

We have a dedicated core team who lead and coordinate our work. Alongside this, we recognise that every project is different. Depending on the focus, location and scope of each piece of work, we collaborate with people with lived experience, specialist associates, and partner organisations.

This flexible and collaborative approach allows us to build the right team for each project, ensuring our work is relevant, inclusive and grounded in real-world expertise.
